WHAT IS KARATE?
Karate, meaning "empty hand" features punching, kicking, knee/elbow strikes and open-handed block techniques. There are many components to modern Karate training including Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). It is an art, self-defence sport and means of fitness. Weapons work is also an important part of the Seniors group training. Karate is also about building a proper attitude including perseverance, fearlessness, virtue and leadership skills.
The F.M.A.C Karate Club's mission is to pass the teachings of their style, Gosoku Kai, onto the future generation of martial artists while incorporating Anti-Bullying and Character Development programmes into each class.
The F.M.A.C Karate Club has been running classes in various locations around New Zealand and Australia for decades.
